As the prime motivator of consumer choice, packaging is critical to the success of a product, according to a report by RTS Resource commissioned by Food Manufacture.
In 2008 the UK market for food and drink packaging, as defined by RTS, totalled 114bn packs, but demand has differed greatly between packaging types.
The report analyses the long-term drivers for the packaging industry.
