Refurbishing service gives new life to existing flow-wrap machines
|
After 32 years of manufacturing flow wrapping machines, Redpack Packaging Machinery's reputation for rugged equipment that 'just keeps on working' is well deserved. However, engineering advances mean that its earlier Pacer machines do not have all the benefits of today's technologies.
Redpack has introduced a 'new life' refurbishment process. It is a complete flow-wrapper rebuild service in which machines are stripped down, shotblasted and repainted, rewired with updated electronics, fitted with new bearings and parts, inspected for current safety regulations, and CE marked prior to being tested and set up to customer specification.
As a result of the increased productivity, reduced film wastage and improved set-up and change-over times after a machine rebuild, an increasing number of manufacturers and contract packers are now looking to Redpack's engineers to undertake upgrades of other brands of flow-wrapping machines, including both Versoflow and Sig models.
Redpack machines are used in a wide cross-section of food industries and in some sectors the credit crunch has resulted in a freeze on the purchase of all capital equipment. The refurbishment service provides a solution for packaging development managers faced with the need for increased or more flexible output from existing production lines.
