Automatic weighers have their heads screwed on
Ishida Europe has extended its solutions for weighing and packing fresh, sticky products with the introduction of a new range of screw-feed multi-head weighers, which allow the fully automatic handling of these products for the first time. The new models are ideal for meat, poultry, fish and seafood that cannot be moved by feeder vibration, or where manual product feeding is not economically viable.
The Ishida screw-feed design utilises the familiar circular multi-head weigher layout but incorporates unique rotating corkscrews to replace the traditional radial feed troughs. These screws provide a powerful, controlled and automatic feed to the pool and weigh hoppers.
Ishida has developed two screw feeder models. The first features 3l stepper-motor driven anti-stick metal hoppers and is particularly suitable for larger target weights and larger piece size applications, including on-the-bone products. It has a top speed of 80 weighs per minute. The second version incorporates 1.5l pneumatic driven plastic scraper hoppers with a maximum speed of 60 weighs per minute.
