New premises promise new future for family grower
The team at Scottish herb grower and supplier, Scotherbs, are celebrating after the company enjoyed a smooth transition into purpose-built premises, just half a mile away from the previous site on the outskirts of Dundee.
Having experienced year-on-year growth of 20%, Scotherbs had outgrown its home of 20 years and needed extra space for both production and offices.
The new 2,000m² premises will give the company an extra 30% production space and enable it to consolidate the workforce which had been spread between two sites.
Now employing a staff of over 100, Scotherbs is still very much a family business run by founder Robert Wilson and his daughter Fiona Lamotte (pictured). Lamotte is at the helm as md and Wilson still very active as the company's chairman.
Lamotte said: "The new premises are a definite move for the future and an opportunity to start writing the next chapter of a very unusual and exciting story."
The company has gone from strength to strength and now counts Tesco, Asda and Aldi among its bigger customers as well as a wide range of wholesalers and food manufacturers.
