Heat transfer specialist the HRS Group has launched its modular MX corrugated tube heat exchanger for food processing applications.

All wetted parts are made from AISI 316L stainless steel and surface roughness levels are below 0.8µm. HRS says the MX range has been designed to offer the most versatile and compact modular heat exchanger system currently available and that it will revolutionise corrugated tube heat transfer for the food industry.

Designed to give a maximum area for heat transfer, the patent pending MX is 26% more compact and substantially more efficient than comparable heat exchangers currently available. It is also quick and economical to manufacture making it more cost effective for the customer.

The MX is ideal for processing fluids with particles and low to medium viscosity fluids. It works well under high operating pressures and temperatures and is suitable for UHT and large pasteurisation applications.

Flow rates range from 76-568 litres per minute.

The heat exchanger has been designed for easy maintenance. By tightening one bolt the header is sealed and just two bolts are needed for each heat exchanger, one for the inlet and one for the outlet.

Available in a range of sizes the MX can also be custom built and its simple, modular design makes it easy to add to.
