Northwest-based Gibsons Foods has developed two new roll products for leading supermarket Morrison in response to the growth in popularity of the 'sub' format made popular by Subway food outlets. The addition of the new rolls, both priced at £1.79 marks the first launch of pre-packed subs as part of Morrisons' core sandwich range.

Targeted at men, the meaty BBQ Chicken & Bacon roll contains diced chicken and sweetcure bacon in a BBQ sauce with mayonnaise on a semolina-topped roll. The new Tuna Salad roll has a fresh flavour likely to appeal to female customers, comprising tuna and seasoned mayonnaise with crunchy iceburg lettuce, cucumber and diced red onion on a semolina-topped roll.
