UK's sweet tooth
The bakery and confectionery sectors are well placed to withstand an economic downturn, according to the latest Food Manufacture market report.
The markets were important to most households and would be unlikely to suffer any sharp declines said the Bakery & Confectionery report, compiled by RTS Resource. The flexibility and variety of products in these sectors, which had a combined value of £13.3bn, should enable them to adapt to changing economics and consumer needs, it added.
