Employment law can be a "nightmare" for small and medium-sized businesses, says Len Collinson, national chairman of the Forum of Private Business (FPB). The organisation has launched the latest edition of its Employment Guide to ease the burden for employers and help prevent costly tribunals.
"The owners and managers of small and medium-sized businesses rely on informality and closeness to employees in the running of their firm. Employment regulations tend to mean paperwork, records and outside interventions," says Collinson.
