Ceiling mounted robot saves space

TM Robotics has launched a ceiling mounted version of the Toshiba Machine TH450 pick and place robot arm, which will save space on the factory floor and allow access to the working area from above.
The TH450 is one of the quickest selective compliant assembly robot arm (SCARA) systems of its size on the market with cycle times of under 0.3s. It has an arm length of 450mm and a payload of 5kg with a repeatability of ±0.01mm.
Linear and circular conveyor synchronisation capabilities are also offered, creating a very powerful package when combined with easily integrated vision systems.
