Oakdale MBO builds pie business
Oakdale Bakeries of Leeds is promising expansion following a management buyout led by Des Kingsley, the chief executive.
Kingsley said: "We will be making significant investment in upgrading our existing facilities and, should the right opportunity arise, acquiring new businesses." He added that work will begin soon on expanding its tart and fruit pie bakery in Doncaster, partly in response to new business.
The management buyout was from founder Marshall Capel for an undisclosed sum. Kingsley's fellow buyout team included sales director Ian Lee and finance director Michael Saville.
Barrie Gardner has become non-executive chairman.
