Ready for ready meal rush
Chiltern Thermoforming made sure it was ready to handle the Christmas and New Year rush of orders for bespoke plastic food containers.
It had recently installed an Illig RDKP 72g thermoforming line at its plastic container manufacturing plant in Aylesbury.
The new '3rd generation' line, installed last October, features a newly developed optimisation sequence allowing for the fine tuning of process parameters. This allows cycle time to be reduced without compromising quality.
The installation of the Illig line freed up space on other medium-volume job machines. As well as achieving very high processing speeds, the machine offers easy tool loading and setting.
The machine means that Chiltern can now match the price of its thermoformed trays to run length right across its customers' product range.
