Sophistication meets mid-range in wrapping
The greater availability of servo drives, electronic controls and robotics is transforming the levels of flexibility offered by mid-range packaging machinery now available on the market.
The latest horizontal flow-wrapper to be launched by Bosch Packaging Technology, the Pack 201, applies these technologies to the low-to-medium speed wrapping of products, such as baked goods and tray-packed foods.
Demaurex Delta robots, also engineered by the Bosch group, provide one option among the infeed alternatives that distinguish this system from its competitors, says product manager Marc de Vries.
"Product lifecycles are becoming shorter, so fewer manufacturers are working with high-volume, dedicated machines," argues de Vries.
Are retailers and caterers taking longer to pay invoices now than a year ago?
