DIY sandwich filling made simple

Many manufacturers struggle to provide for consumers who love the idea of preparing their own dishes, but lack the skills and time to put their plans into action.
Sandwich processor Freshway Foods has come up with a solution: the Tip and Mix. This comprises two stacked pots with separate ingredients, such as chicken and pesto sauce, giving consumers the opportunity to mix their own sandwich fillings.
Roz Jackson, head of new product development at Freshway, says: "Many consumers we spoke to wanted less processed food and were happy to pay a premium for products which would make their home-made butties less boring."
