LETTER
Sir
In your article A Question of Faith (Food Manufacture, December, NPD Supplement, page vii) you claim that 'Gelatin, a by-product of a mainly non-halal slaughterhouse industry, is also forbidden'.
Please note that gelatin can be produced out of different types of raw material (porcine skin/bone, bovine skin/bone, fish). Some slaughterhouses are halal approved.
As a consequence of this, we are able to supply halal approved gelatin.
