Netzsch Pumps' range of progressing cavity pumps has been designed with the co-operation of EHEDG, the European Hygienic Equipment Design Group for the hygienic design of food processing equipment.

The SH/BH range has been awarded a 3A certificate and offers various options to allow companies to specify a pump to suit their individual process requirements. The design also includes a number of innovative features that minimise dead areas and improve flow characteristics through the pump, as well as simplifying maintenance.

The pump body is bolted to the bearing housing, forming an integral pressure-containing component and separating the bearing housing from pressure in the process line.

As well as providing rigidity and easier access for maintenance, the design allows the pump to operate in forward or reverse directions at the same pressure.

The tie rods, which in conventional designs run the length of the pump and can tighten or loosen due to changes in temperature, now only retain the stator.

The 22 pumps in the range cover 25 litres/h to 120m³/h and pressures up to 12 bar.
