Nisa-Today's buys British
Meat supplier, Chitty Food Group, has secured a contract to supply 28 pre-packed British beef, pork and lamb lines into Nisa-Today's, the independent buying consortium.
Chitty is also supplying a value-added range, the Premium Heritage Select label, which includes lamb steaks with fresh rosemary, pork loin steaks with Bramley and English mustard sauce, and Italian-Style meatballs.
The two ranges are packed using controlled atmosphere to ensure freshness. Cases are available with two or four packs in order to reduce wastage.
The Heritage label is in full colour showing landscapes giving a fresh and natural feel to the packaging. It is also colour coded depending on species.
The farms that supply Chitty are all farm-assured with full traceability. The company is also inspected to the British Retail Consortium's Global Standard for Food.
Nisa-Today's trading and logistics md, John Sharpe, said: "This new range of meat products will extend our meat range and boost our private label portfolio.
"We also hope it will encourage members to stock a wider range of fresh meats."
