Energy drink stimulates market
Green coffee beans, glucose and guarana are the three revitalising ingredients in Coca-Cola’s Sprite 3G. The new addition follows on from the successful launch of no added sugar Sprite Z in April this year.
Sprite 3G has been created to meet consumer demand for a drink that combines the functional benefits of energy drinks, with the familiar taste of Sprite. The lemon-lime flavoured drink is exclusive to the UK and is being marketed at young adults.
Norman Brodie, marketing director at Coca-Cola Enterprises says: “Sprite is a fantastic, growing brand. It has undergone a 12% increase in the last two years alone. With pre-launch consumer feedback reinforcing Sprite 3G’s great taste and refreshment credentials, we are confident that Sprite 3G will provide a welcome addition to the Sprite brand portfolio.”
Marks & Spencer's technical manager Simon Allison has claimed 2009 will be "the year for automation" in Britain's food and drink industry. Do you agree?
