Powder homogeniser goes Dutch
Hosokawa Micron has delivered a 100,000-litre stainless steel powder homogeniser to a company in Holland for use in the blending of flour, salt, milk powder, and additives used in bakery pre-mix.
The vessel handles 45t of product and gently but thoroughly mixes it in a 20-minute cycle time.
The Centro Screw mixer has a central, vertical screw located in a guided pipe. Powder is conveyed from the bottom to the top section where there is a dispersion hood/cone which ensures good product distribution.
The high circulation speeds, in combination with this dispersion hood and partially conical-shaped mixing vessel, ensure mass flow and good and fast homogenisation, says the company.
Used for mixing powders with powders or powders with liquids, the homogeniser has a working capacity from 50% to 100% of filling rate without losing its mixing accuracy. After-discharge residue levels of 0.01% can be achieved.
