The Department of Trade and Industry is giving local authority trading standards services an additional £825,000 over three years from April to support regional co-ordination.
The Local Authorities Co-ordinators of Regulatory Services had been lobbying for money to improve services. English regions, Scotland and Wales will have to match the funding they receive.
