Do it your own way
UK own-label manufacturers should capitalise on opportunities in European markets, where the own-label share of the food market continues to grow at more than 10% a year, said the Food From Britain (FFB) consultancy.
Spain is ahead of the Netherlands, France and Belgium with a 17% increase in 2004 in own-label sales to euros 12bn. The Netherlands had the lowest own-label penetration of the countries surveyed and offered the most scope for development, said FFB.
