  • A change of chair for Finsbury
     - Published:  24 April, 2008

    Lord Saatchi has confirmed that he will step down as Finsbury Food Group's chairman, and from the board, with effect from April 30. He will be replaced by David Marshall who has been deputy chairman of the group since its creation in 2002.

    Marshall will be assisted in his role by Paul Monk, who continues as deputy chairman – an appointment he took up in February 2007.

    Lord Saatchi has been the chairman of Finsbury Food Group for more than five years. During that time he has overseen the company's development into a major player in the UK cake, bread and gluten free markets.

  • Everything's under control at Dawn Foods

    Sweet bakery specialist Dawn Foods has appointed Ton Wesseling to be its operations director Europe.

    In his new role Wesseling will manage the ingredients plant and bakery in Evesham, the bakery in Steenbergen in the Netherlands and the customer services and logistics of Dawn Foods in Europe.

  • New face for Greencore communications

    Eoin Tonge is to take over the corporate communications role at Greencore from Jonathan Grant-Nicholas, who is retiring at the end of April after 45 years in the food trade.

    As group capital markets and corporate communications director, Tonge will combine this role with his current responsibilities for investor relations and corporate treasury.

  • Caribbean company appoints new boss

    Caribbean food and drink supplier Grace Foods UK has announced the appointment of Michael Ranglin as its new chief executive officer (CEO).

    Ranglin will be based at Grace Foods UK’s headquarters in Welwyn Garden City, but also retains his current position of deputy CEO at GK Foods, one of the Caribbean’s largest corporate entities.

  • Creative juices set to flow at Honeytop

    Sally Lawrence joins UK naan bread manufacturer Honeytop Speciality Foods as head of innovations this month.

    No stranger to new product development in the UK bakery sector, Lawrence joins Honeytop after leaving a similar role at Tesco’s instore bakery in Hertfordshire. She is based at Honeytop’s head office in Dunstable and will oversee all aspects of product development, steering a co-ordinated approach to delivering innovative solutions for customers and bringing new products to the marketplace.

  • Premier serves up a winning formula

    Premier Foods has appointed Mat Baker as director of Foodservice and Ingredients.

    Reporting to group sales director Ian York, Baker will be responsible for all Premier Foodservice business as the company continues to drive the division.

  • Frozen food recruit receives a warm welcome

    Gary Wooldridge joins frozen food specialist Ardo as distribution facilities manager from Delice de France, where he worked for four years, in the capacity of warehouse, depot and transport manager, and more recently health and safety supervisor for the south of England. This is an area of expertise he has been able to bring to Ardo, ensuring visiting contractors are safe while they go about their business on site.

  • Business development receives a new lease of life

    Dairygold Food Ingredients UK has announced three business development appointments.

    Business development manager Breeda Cotter (pictured) will work closely with Dairygold`s food manufacturing customers and in tandem with the company’s new product development team to identify new opportunities and beneficial product improvements.

    Dairygold has also appointed two business development executives: Heidi Cartwright to look after industrial manufacturing and Catherine O Connor to deal with foodservice.
