Wine brands have tried everything from beverage cartons to flexible pouches in recent months, and success with non-standard pack formats is not restricted to the UK.
Rexam Beverage Can has been supplying 250ml single-serve slim cans to South African customer Eve for its range of sparkling rosé, red and white products since last year. Designed for 18-34 year-old females, the presentation has in fact been shown to appeal to a much wider demographic, says Rexam.
In September, Eve is planning to launch the cans in parts of Europe, Australasia and North America.
