Shuttle to pallet efficiency

03-Oct-2011

The Promotion Shuttle is a remote-controlled, battery-powered pallet handling vehicle that operates in pallet racking. Developed by storage firm BITO-Lagertechnik, it promises continuous infeeding and outfeeding of pallets into a storage lane and keeps track of stock.

Smooth material flow, minimised floor space occupation, maximum utilisation of storage volume and immediate product availability are critical for logistics productivity.

This lane-bound vehicle is designed for infeeding, relocating and outfeeding load carriers into lanes. Routed by remote control, the shuttle feeds pallets in and out of the lane in which it is operating. Moving on purpose-built guide rails, it travels up and down the lane without a connected additional carrier vehicle and can be relocated into another lane with a conventional fork lift truck.

The shuttle is powered by a lithium-ion-battery for little self-discharge and high-energy density. Recharged batteries work for up to 12 hours and operate in deepfreeze environments.
