Big data bill

Data inaccuracy between retailers and their suppliers is costing £1.4bn a year, according to supply chain specialist LCP Consulting.

This is much more than estimates in a recent Data Crunch report by GS1 UK and the Cranfield School of Management, which put the figure at £1bn over five years for Tesco, Iceland, Morrisons and Sainsbury.

LCP claimed that one in every 10 data elements from the retailers was incorrect.
