Dunbia clinches joint venture with Shannon Meats

Dunbia, which has its head office in Dungannon, Northern Ireland, has supplied the Dutch-based company for many years.

The new deal would strengthen this relationship further with the aim of boosting Dunbia’s export sales. “We will work together to supply the Dutch market,”​ a spokeswoman for Dunbia told FoodManufacture.co.uk.

‘Milestone’​

Jim Dobson, Dunbia group ceo, said: “This agreement marks a key milestone in Dunbia’s strategic expansion plans.​

“We have been doing business with Shannon Meats for many years and have always been extremely impressed with their approach, which sits well with our own corporate ethos and values.​

“Our plans to increase our export markets have been well documented. Shannon Meats have the networks and infrastructure to allow us to access new customers in the retail and wholesale trade in Holland and Benelux countries.”​

Irish beef​

Shannon Meats has more than 25 years’ experience in the meat industry, trading in 100% Irish beef products. Ronnie Bosma, the company’s ceo, welcomed the partnership. “We have excellent relationships with a number of key suppliers across Ireland who supply us with top quality Irish beef and these relationships will continue,” ​he said.
