Food Manufacture Excellence Awards: five days to go

Categories this year include: ambient manufacturing, bakery and beverages, to fresh, chilled and frozen categories among others. See the full list of categories in the box below.

The winner of each category award will be eligible to win the top award: the Food Manufacture Company of the Year​. Previous winners of the top award include: Premier Foods and Dawn Meats.

Once a main category award entry has been submitted, firms will be eligible to enter four other awards: Best New Use of Food Ingredients; Environmental Initiative of the Year; Supply Chain Initiative of the Year; and Training Programme of the Year.

Most promising new apprentice​

Also on offer is the Young Talent of the Year award, designed to recognise the individual the judges believe to be the most promising new apprentice or graduate in food and drink manufacture.

Food and drink manufacturing Oscars will be awarded too for Judges’ Star Performer – presented to a company selected from all entries, which the judges believe deserves recognition for one particular area of its activities – and the SME (small to medium sized enterprise) Innovation of the Year award.

This trophy will be presented to the best small company with a turnover of less than £10M and employing fewer than 100 staff.

The winners will be revealed at a carnival-themed gala dinner celebration at the Lancaster Hotel in West London on November 3.
