The footballer turned movie star will use his tough guy image to promote milk as a healthy beverage as part of the ‘Make mine milk’ campaign. The adverts featuring him will carry the headline 'You know what’s good for you'.
Jones said: “As a footballer I used to look after myself, but even since I retired from professional sport, I’ve always tried to stay in shape. Particularly if I’m in training for a film, I need to stay lean and not eat any crap.”
His acting credits include: Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels; Snatch; Gone in 60 Seconds; Mean Machine; and X-Men: The Last Stand.
A total of £7.5M in funding was provided for the ‘Make mine milk’ campaign, with two-thirds supplied by the Milk Marketing Forum – a consortium of dairy companies consisting of Arla Foods, Dairy Crest, First Milk, Milk Link and Robert Wiseman Dairies.
The remaining third, which will end in October, was supplied by the EU.
