West Midland dairy firm Central Supplies is continuing its expansion with the purchase of Goole-based Littletown Farm.

The acquisition of the distributor of chilled and other food products based in Yorkshire fuels its continued expansion into the north of England and Scotland.

No financial details on the deal were disclosed.

Sean Trow, commercial director at Central Supplies, said: “We are pleased to have completed this acquisition.

‘Drive down distribution costs’

“The depot in Goole will enable us to further develop our sales to customers in the north of England and Scotland. The proximity of the depot will in addition allow us to improve on service levels and drive down distribution costs in order to make us even more competitive.’’

The corporate team at George Green LLP advised Central Supplies.

Partner Philip Round said: “The transaction is one of a number of recent deals which we have completed in the food sector and adds to our strong start this year.”
