The business, which shut down last month, was earmarked for closure in April after parent company Northern Foods failed to reach agreement with Sainsbury, its biggest customer.
The site, which made chilled Chinese ready meals, is the third factory Northern Foods boss Stefan Barden (pictured) has closed down or mothballed in the last three years after failing to agree mutually satisfactory terms with a supermarket.
The auction is being handled by specialist food machinery auctioneer Clarke Fussells, which is also handling the sale of kit from the Buxton Spa bakery on September 29.
The bakery, which went into administration in July, had been dogged by cashflow problems for months, but was tipped over the edge by the demise of a key customer, which left the business with a bad debt of more than £100,000.
