Heck! led a number of food companies appearing in this year’s list. Also featured were brewery Brewdog and two sports nutrition manufacturers: Bulk Powders and Grenade.
The list charts Britain’s top 100 private companies with the fastest growing sales in 2016, ranging from food manufacturers to football clubs.
To be listed in the Fast Track 100, companies must have: total sales between £5M–£250M a year, profits up to £10M, between 10–2,000 staff and an average three-year sales growth of 50%–200% per year.
Total of £3.3bn
On average, the top 100 companies featured in this year’s list achieved sales growth of 67% over the past three years to a total of £3.3bn.
Together, the companies employ 19,400 staff and have added 14,200 jobs over the past three years.
Top of the list was online active-wear retailer Gymshark. You can view the top food and drink companies and why they were selected in this photogallery.
Meanwhile, 2 Sisters Food Group was recognised as the fastest growing private food and drink business in the Sunday Times’s Top Track 100 in July.
