Time is running out to win a coveted food and drink manufacturing Oscar, with the deadline for entries this Friday July 17.

The Food Manufacture Excellence Awards (FMEAs) celebrate the best of British food and drink manufacturing. Entry is free and straightforward – but hurry, entries close in just over two days.

This year’s food and drink manufacturing Oscars recognise outstanding performance in key industry sectors including: ambient manufacturing, bakery and beverages, to fresh, chilled and frozen categories. See the full list of categories below.

The big one

Each category winner will be eligible to win the big one: Food Manufacture Company of the Year. This year’s winner will join a distinguished hall of fame including last year’s winner Dawn Meats and previous winner Premier Foods.

Firms entering a main category will also be eligible to submit an entry for four other awards: Best New Use of Food Ingredients; Environmental Initiative of the Year; Supply Chain Initiative of the Year and Training Programme of the Year.

Awards will also be made for Judges’ Star Performer – presented to a company selected from all entries, which the judges believe deserves recognition for one particular area of its activities – and the SME (small to medium-sized enterprises) Innovation of the Year award, for the best small company with a turnover of less than £10M and employing fewer than 100 staff.

Judges’ Star Performer

The 2015 manufacturing Oscars will again include the Young Talent of the Year award – designed to encourage the next generation of industry professionals. This award celebrates the most promising new apprentice or graduate in food and drink manufacturing sector.

Winning firms will collect their Oscars at a gala dinner celebration – this year with a carnival theme – at the Lancaster Hotel in West London on November 3.
