Noble Foods has completed the construction of a £10M egg-packing centre in Oxfordshire, which is now providing up to 14.4M free-range eggs a week to the UK’s leading supermarkets.

The new 7,665m2 facility at Standlake features specialist machinery that grades, sorts and packs the eggs before they are delivered to retailers. The facility was built by Clegg Food Projects and Harrison Pitt Architects was the lead consultant on the project.

Efficiency

“Our Standlake facility is using the latest technology and most advanced equipment in the global egg industry,” said Richard Stowey, project director for Noble Foods. “It has been designed to make energy efficiency and health and safety a priority and we believe it rivals any packing centre anywhere in Europe, if not the world.”

Noble Foods is one of the UK’s leading suppliers of fresh eggs to the supermarket and retail sector. Each week it individually grades, packs and delivers over 72M eggs for its customers.
