The British Egg Industry Council (BEIC) has elected Andrew Jorêt as its new chairman after the retirement of Andrew Parker, who had held the role since 1996.

The role of BEIC chairman is held by the chairman of the National Egg Marketing Association, to which position Jorêt was elected last month.

Jorêt has worked in the poultry industry for 36 years and is group technical director of Noble Foods. Previous roles include operations director of Deans and agricultural and operations director at Daylay.
