Food industry employability skills – photogallery
The skills form part of IGD’s Feeding Britain’s Future workshops and were developed after consulting senior human resources professionals from some of the world’s largest companies.
The eight skills are: entrepreneurial, creativity, teamwork, communication, leadership, digital, practical and analytical.
IGD chief executive Joanne Denney-Finch said: “The world of work is changing dramatically and many of the jobs of the future do not yet exist. While this creates new challenges, it also creates fantastic opportunities for those who possess the skills most in demand.
‘Essential employability skills’
“We expect the eight essential employability skills to be highly valued by our industry in the future and they form the linchpin of our Feeding Britain’s Future Schools Programme.”
IGD has also launched a five-minute video alongside the employability skills to showcase the range of roles available in the food and grocery supply chain and highlight how people use these skills at work. You can view the video here.
