Way to go for non-stop operation

01-Jan-2012

At the ProSweets exhibition in Cologne later this month, Gerhard Schubert will demonstrate a picker line for chocolate bears, cookies, candies and much more.

The line will run in non-stop operation and features 'transmodules' as transport elements. Transmodules are basically intelligent vehicles that are driven by a servomotor and carry out numerous transport tasks.

Initially the transmodules only had point-to-point control, which was suitable for intermittent operation. In the meantime, transmodules are driven with continuous-line control and used for continuous operation or for a combination of cyclical and continuous movement.

The continuous-line control now available on transmodules means that they are particularly suited for use as a transport system for picker lines.

Schubert is confident that the transmodule will change the world of packaging machines in the years to come. "Thanks to the transmodule, the flexibility of the packaging machines has increased to a degree that a bright future can already be predicted for the transmodule," says the company.
