Sealpac sales director Kevin Jones said: "The main trend is probably the demand for flexibility. Firms want to buy a thermoformer that can grow with their ambitions, so preferably no dedicated machinery."
There is growing interest, particularly in the raw and processed meat sectors, in skin systems, where a flexible, product-hugging film combines with a base tray. But processors also like to have the option of producing 360° shrink film packs on the same machine.
"Our thermoformers can produce different packaging solutions on the same base," said Jones. "This makes them future-proof."
