Print facility for PET containers

By Paul Gander, 24-Dec-2010

Polyethylene terephthalate (PET) converter APPE is now offering direct four-colour silk-screen printing on to bottles and containers – with wines and spirits among the sectors being targeted.

APPE (formerly Artenius PET Packaging) said it had invested over £1M in the Kammann equipment at its Gresford plant. Special effects, such as metallics, can be included in print onto round, oval and conical containers in a 40450mm height range.

The company already boasts one international customer in the personal care sector, but said that direct print could help food and drink manufacturers to differentiate their products, too.
