Packaging world first

01-Mar-2011

Automation specialist Schubert will demonstrate the world’s first TLM packaging machine featuring fully-automatic tool changing at the Interpack show, which takes place in Düsseldorf from May 12–18.

Schubert said the machine makes fully automatic size changing a reality. From chocolate Easter bunnies to yogurt cups, the changeover time is only 4.5 minutes. It also increases efficiency of the packaging process.

Anyone producing snacks, cookies or chocolates will be interested in a TLM-F44 picker line, which picks chocolate bears from a belt and places them in packaging trays in continuous operation.

What's new here is the mother tray, which is sealed in an upper film at the end of the line and then cut into portion trays. The stacking lugs stay in the web scrap.

Also on show will be a TLM packaging line for shipping cartons featuring an integrated TLM-P4 palletiser.
