In the face of stiff competition from dual-ovenable board, the plastics alternative continues to fight its corner, as converter Faerch Plast will confirm.
The company's UK business recently won a contract to supply some 12,000 crystalline polyethylene terephthalate trays a week to Irish ready meals manufacturer Kohinoor Foods. It worked with its sole Irish distributor Bunzl Irish Merchants to secure the business with the producer of Asian dishes.
Faerch Plast says it is now producing around 70% of the packs for Kohinoor's Balti House brand.
