It's showtime for integrated packaging lines

Post a comment02-Jan-2013

Multivac will be displaying a range of integrated packaging lines at this May's IFFA show in Frankfurt.

On show will be high- performance thermoforming packaging machines, traysealers and chamber machines, as well as systems for automated manufacture. The latter will cover everything from single and multi-track conveyor systems to handling modules, which can be equipped with multi-axis robots.

Multivac will also demonstrate its expertise in the high pressure processing (HPP) of foods. The company has succeeded in integrating HPP into automated packaging lines and applying this technology to modified atmosphere packs.

Visitors to the show will be able to see the innovative Mylar Cook packaging concept, which was developed by Dupont Teijin Films. These are thermoformable films, which have been specially developed for the preparation of food in the high temperature range up to 218ºC. Food is cooked in the oven or in the microwave in its sealed pack, thereby retaining the product's aromas, vitamins, minerals and inherent moisture.
