Provenance shows promise

Unilever is putting £6.5M behind its Magnum brand and introducing two new flavours to the range.

Magnum Ecuador Dark is made from vanilla ice cream coated in Ecuadorian dark chocolate with 62% cocoa content, while Magnum Columbia Aroma is a combination of vanilla ice cream and coffee sauce made with authentic Colombian coffee beans, enrobed in chocolate.

Brand manager Anna Ford says: "Our new Magnum ice creams for 2007 are totally on-trend. We're capitalising on the huge increase in popularity of dark chocolate and coffee to create two premium, grown-up new Magnum experiences. The response to new flavours in consumer groups has blown us away."
