Kofta can cough-up profit margins

UK meat manufacturer The Big Kitchen has launched a Lamb Kofta dish for caterers who want to take advantage of the growing demand for ethnic dishes.

Precooked and preseasoned, the Lamb Kofta takes minutes to heat from frozen.

The product is designed for event catering, and pubs and restaurants looking to update their starter, share platter or barbecue menu.

Jonathan Ashmore, commercial director of The Big Kitchen said: "Eastern-inspired dishes offer caterers a huge profit opportunity. Their speciality nature can give a greater margin than traditional savoury snacks."
