The ScanPortioner 36 portion cutter, from Scanvaegt, uses a servo knife motor and a fast-operating vision system to offer users in the fish industry between 600 and 800 strokes a minute.
Soren Rimmen, the company's international marketing coordinator, claims it is the only intelligent portion cutter on the market that can carry out both straight and 45° biased cuts.
The B36 is designed with four large top-hatched doors for ease of access, and quick-release belts. It operates without the use of water and has an open knife guide in order to make cleaning fast and simple. "Quick and easy calibration and the ability to undertake changes of product set-up are other important features," says Rimmen. "In addition, the user-friendly software programs (96 are available) ensure the optimum utilisation of each product thus resulting in lower give-away, better yield, and higher capacity."
The company has also introduced the ScanBatcher 4700, which features new grading/batching technology.
"Thanks to this equipment's use of the latest technology, along with numerous enhancements to previous products, virtually any grading or batching job can be undertaken," says Rimmen. "Different jobs can be handled simultaneously at a speed of up to 270 items per minute."
The 4700 is built of stainless steel and other non-corroding food industry materials.
