Compressor manufacturer CompAir has extended its oil-free offering with the introduction of a new range of water-injected single screw compressors, designed for applications where there is a need for high quality 'active' air -- air that comes into direct contact with the process it serves.
The new DH series offers an oil-free solution for users looking for compressors in smaller sizes and consists of 15, 22 and 37kW models.
According to CompAir, the DH series offers low energy and maintenance costs due to its configuration. The compressors contain single-screw water-injected compression elements which have a bronze six-flute main rotor with two twin carbon fibre composite 11-tooth gate motors. The compression element delivers 12 pulses of air per revolution, compared with just six for a conventional screw.
Fully integrated is a water purification system that uses reverse osmosis membrane filtration to provide high quality injection water. This removes dissolved salts, metals, minerals and organisms and ensures reliable and trouble-free operation. With only a 15°C temperature rise across the compression element, there is also no need for a final air cooler, which reduces energy consumption, says CompAir.
