Enhancements to Avery Weigh-Tronix's M series of scales will enable retailers to comply with the new European Union (EU) regulations on food safety, labelling, and traceability, says Peter Williams, head of retail marketing at the company.
The new scales have been designed to reduce the overall costs of ownership to customers. Enhancements include a full graphics panel, improved memory, fast printing, quick paper loading, remote asset management, E-mail alert system, and a touch screen technology option.
Recently-introduced counter and self-service solutions based on Avery Berkel's PC-based scale system are also being promoted. "They are specifically designed to redefine the 'net profitability' model for fresh food counters," says Williams.
