Save some steam and conserve energy

01-Aug-2010

Steam systems have many uses in the manufacturing world, including humidification, hot water and heating.

According to Thermal Energy International, supplier of emission reduction solutions, steam leakage accounts for up to 11% of steam consumption in a small or medium scale industry, rising to up to 55% in high-usage processing industries.

Steam traps are designed to discharge air and condensable gases from equipment without discharging the steam. However, around 10% of mechanical steam traps fail each year, according to the technology firm.

The fixed orifice condense discharge trap that Thermal Energy International manufactures features a venturi orifice design that drains condensate from the steam system, for maximum energy and water conservation.

As these steam traps have no moving parts to wedge open or fail, they require minimal maintenance and no spares, testing or monitoring equipment. This reduces misuse of man hours and saves costs.

They are available in a range of options for specific applications and manufactured from corrosion resistant stainless steel.
