Robots know their pick and place

04-Sep-2012

Various live demonstrations of ABB's latest equipment will feature on its stand, including its smallest ever multi-purpose robot. The compact, agile and lightweight, six-axis, IRB 120, which is designed for pick-and-place applications, is now available as an ISO 5 (Class 100) clean-room version, ideal for food and drink applications.

The new small robot offers all the functionality of the ABB range, but in a much smaller package, helping to reduce the footprint of robotic cells.

The stand will also feature live demonstrations of ABB's motion control solutions for product labelling. These use Mint: ABB's Motion Intelligence programming language, which is optimised for motion control and speed. A sensor detects the product, indexes the label and places it on the product.
