The firm was using six rotary centrifugal sieves to screen the powder, but mesh breakage was allowing contaminants to pass through to the packaging lines. As the sieves were enclosed, production had to be stopped to inspect the mesh. Failures meant re-screening, which added time and cost to the production process.
Nutrexpa replaced the six rotary sieves with two 1,200mm diameter Compact Sieves.
Now the powder enters the Compact 1200 through a feed inlet and is screened through the machine in a straight line, ensuring no hold-ups or dead points. Oversized material travels across the screen mesh and is ejected.
