As the sole distributor in the UK and Ireland, Interfood Technology supplies the German-made Weber range of slicing machines to a variety of users in the food industry.

The latest offering is the Product Volume Scanner, which is designed to process irregularly-shaped products, says Interfood's Gary Bond. "This gives precise calculations of the thickness of each slice, thus allowing the user to optimise on accept rates leading to improved yield and reduced give-away."

The smallest product in the Weber range is the 302, which is described as a budget-value machine suited to small and medium specialist butchers and producers looking to generate high quality small batches of cut meats. The 402 through to the 902 vary in slicing capacities. They offer fully-automated, high-speed processing.

"Specialist technicians can install these machines with minimal disruption to the production line," Bond says. Interfood keeps sufficient stocks and spares to ensure minimum lead-times in servicing equipment.

The company also mounts regular in-house training schemes to help its customers maximise the capabilities of their equipment and to expand their expertise.
