Hive of activity boosts honey production

Last updated on 03-Jul-2010 at 01:23 GMT2010-07-03T01:23:25Z

Jam, marmalade and honey maker Duerr's has called in automation and control systems specialist Denca Controls to facilitate its honey processing line.

Duerr's wanted to add a second melting chamber to grow capacity at its plant in response to rising demand for its range of honeys from the supermarkets serving health-conscious consumers.

Denca's brief consisted of upgrading its existing system by adding controls, modifying software, configuring and integrating new hardware into the existing process, installing all necessary cables, and getting the new system into service.

Once the system was up and running, a rigorous testing procedure was implemented to make sure that the new system would run smoothly.

Established in 1995, Denca Controls delivers high quality, value-for-money control solutions using leading edge instrumentation, electrical design and software engineering technologies to improve efficiencies, enhance customers' business performance and positively impact on their profits.

The business provides a range of process control solutions based on custom-designed, fully-integrated software.
